LOVE Sam!!!!!! Are you making those into cards?! Or do legal issues come into play there?!
Thanks Kate! As much as I would like to turn these into cards or something - I just dont want to take the risk of infringing on copyrights. I see other artists posting things all the time but unless they have permission to use the likeness for sales purposes they could find themselves in trouble legally. So these are just for everyone’s enjoyment :)
Watercolors are awesome. Try a heavier gauge paper, a hot press watercolor paper and then think about layering colors. For Ursula, underwater, you can lay down a light color, then add more layers to create depth and dimension.
Could not agree more that this is not really the right paper - it was just a spur of the moment thing. I am going to be going to Michael’s later today so I will be sure and pick up some appropriate water color paper.
And I can totally see what you are talking about with the layers. Its funny all of my digital art is done using various layers but I did not really consider it on a single piece of paper like this.
Today started on a positive - I posted some new art and moments later sold a framed print of the Water Tower piece,.
It them went somber as I attended the memorial service for the Mom of Kristine the infamous sidewalk chalk artist.
Then it was hours of dust filled work continuing to tear down and pack up the office.
It was a fun filled night hanging out with John (a close buddy who used to work with us before being laid off a few rounds ago).
It started with meeting at an Irish pub and sitting at a table under this sign/art:
I mean its “my” spot from the get go.
But then they had Bass (my clear favorite beer) on draft!!!
And to top it off we all had some Irish Car Bombs and by some I mean three of us had two of them.
Sam (who originally hired me) doesnt drink much so he had diet soda but when Car Bombs came we had ordered them for him as well and he obliged much to the delight of John (and myself) as pictured here!
And then two of us had a third Car Bomb
And before it was over I had the chance to wish John’s wife (Mindy) who showed up later, a great race as she will be heading to NYC to run her 3rd marathon on Sunday!
So at least this goes back to being a somewhat running related blog post :)
I’m not presumptuous enough to think anyone would actually want to track my progress, but I was asked about it by my friend, Rich, so I’m going to put it here. If you’re bored on Sunday, my bib number is 56673. I’m in the last wave, starting shortly before 11 am.
All signed up to follow Josh this weekend! This is the one time The Creeper is willing to let us all know his whereabouts. Have to take advantage of that opportunity!
