I look forward to seeing your progress! and pics of the doggies! What kind do you have?names? We took Sue (the black lab) back to her home on the farm. We take her for several weeks at a time. Her owner raises hunting labs. She gets a break and lots of attention. But now it’s just Gracie Lou, and she’s an active mama just like me!! Good luck with your fitness and running. talk anytime :)
I have two dogs:
Skylar is a Husky/Shepard mix (one brown eye and one blue eye). He is 11yo and unfortunately was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. So my time with him is going to be limited and I am making the best of it while I can! (You can see my post from Friday about the walk I took with them both - here.
Annie is a Brittany Spaniel/Pointer mix and she is 8yo - I rescued her when she was 4yo shortly after my dog Sadie (who was 7 at the time) passed away also due to cancer at young age. So as you can imagine I am really over canine cancer.
At the time I wasn’t sure if I was going to get a second dog right away as Sadie had been so dominant and I wanted to give Skylar a break and some freedom. But he was so depressed that I knew he needed a buddy and being the submissive one was just his role in life. Annie is far less controlling - but over the years she has picked up on the fact that she can take charge if she wants too! LOL
So based on Skylar’s condition - we just go for walks now (not runs) and it makes them both so happy - which of course puts me in a great mood. And I add on the walking miles to my total’s for the week - because it is still a mile earned in my own progress to be fit and healthy!
Thanks for asking!
